As many people want to know how this Hyderabad-based startup Smartron has managed to be on the market for one year and what is its merchandising factor that people care about. Before we head on to the Smartron p review, we’d like to know that smartron has been made a mark in the mobile industry for there good hardware at affordable cost, and it seems like Smartron is keeping up this trend with the new Smartron p.

As to begin with specs, The P sports a Qualcomm Snapdragon 435 processor, 5000mAH battery, and a fingerprint scanner which you’ll not see in any similar priced phones at a moderate rate of Rs 7,999. After all just because it offers robust hardware you should shell out your money on it? We’ll talk about it later.

Smartron P design

As far as we have noticed Smartron is the best class design phone as it doesn’t comprise with its look. As you would have seen the had a bright orange rear panel, where the has a Sachin Tendulkar’s photo and autograph with optional back panels. And the new p is somehow the exact match to the ZTE Blade A6 in hardware, except its selfie camera touts a 5-megapixel camera while ZTE phone has 8 Megapixel selfie camera. Without being surprised until we knew ZTE is the manufacturing partner for the P, specifically for the hardware but keeping software separate.

It has plastic all over that wraps around the p’s bottom and top and has a metal rear panel just to render some elegance to the design and support to fingers while holding it. On the left side, you’ll see a SIM tray and the power and volume buttons on the right. Smartron has picked up the textured metallic on and off Power button while volume keys are made of plastic, due to this change, users can easily navigate through the buttons.

The phone flaunts a 5.2 inch of a display with embedded capacitive touch button below it. Going up there is a selfie camera with flash just like a rear camera flash. At the back of the left corner, the phone has a primary camera along with a single LED flash and just around there is a fingerprint scanner that is easy to handle. There are the 3.5mm headphones jack and the secondary microphone sitting on the top. With the compact design, the phone is convenient for one-handed use. It measures around 8.9mm thick in size and weighs 160g including its 5000mAh battery.

Smartron P specifications and software

The most budget phone might show weak performance with its processor as it’s an underpowered but safe to use and is an exception to Smartron t. Phone P. The smartphone gets its juice from Qualcomm Snapdragon 435 4-core octa-core processor that runs at a clock rate of 1.4GHz and the other four at 1.1GHz. It holds a 3GB of RAM and 32GB of onboard storage, which can further be extended to 128GB. There is a hybrid dual-SIM design structure lets the expandable device work.

As with most budget phones, the Smartron phone p doesn’t give any option to tweak contrast, color temperature and the colors that it has are quite neutral. The tphone has a 13-MP rear camera and a 5 MP front camera. Regarding connectivity, it boasts a Bluetooth 4.1, Wi-Fi 802.11b/g/h, GPS, FM, AND GLONASS support. The phone has a dual sim slot, but you can use two nano sims at a time or a single sim with MicroSD. And yes, it supports 4G and VoLTE.

Speaking of software, the smartron P runs on Android 7.1 Nougat with a few inbuilt customizations options. This time the Smartron has a slew of changes on UI. There is a launcher just like Google pixel 2 to open an app drawer when you swipe up the screen. The phone has an improved notification dots, a feature from the latest Android Oreo, that displays a bubble on app icons during notifications from them. As the UI somehow looks like stock android, but some news changes has been added this time.

You’ll see some preinstalled apps by Smartron itself on the smartphone. Some names are,,, and a forum app. Smartron’s cloud storage’s app is that offers you 1000GB of free cloud storage, and you’ll leverage this when you create a TronX ID, though you might face some error while signing up, if  it happens then try register with company’s own website as most of didn’t face any issue. Still, There is a possible chance that you might fail in creating with TronX ID.

This is being occurred because the company is still working on it and assured us that retails units will work smoothly as butter. The app is utilized for contact support, and is a collection app for the company’s online accessories store. You see inside it a Powerpoint, Microsoft Word, OneNote, and Skype on the phone. These are installed by default and cannot be deleted but you can disable them.

Smartron P cameras, performance, and battery life

The P is equipped with decent Core parts, the result will be visible in a single day as the performance is just optimum compared to most of the relevant priced smartphones which are using some other outdated or underpowered processors instead of Qualcomm Snapdragon. So far the experience of using Smartron t. Phone p has been a lag-free and no signs of delay in the UI. To some extent, the smartphone throws a lag before unlocking it and a little bit slow in fingerprint scanner.

We have compiled the benchmarks to see if it is taking on its competition. The P scores a total of 44,508 points in AnTuTu while in the Single-core and multi-core test in Geekbench 4, it scored 668 and 2,655 points sequeintly. And the phone has managed to show a 28fpg in GFXBench. Shortly the Cameras DxOmark result will be rolled out.

Battery life of this phone is just impressive we didn’t find any sudden drain in the battery while playing Shadow Fight 3. The Gaming performance is decent as well, and we didn’t notice any intense heat after a long gaming session. Despite of its large battery size the phone doesn’t support a quick charging.

In the HD video loop test, the P managed to show a remarkable time of 20 hr and 47 mins, which is by now the best time recorded in the sub-range 10000 Rs segments. Not only that the phone also supports reverse charging which means that you can use the P to charge other devices just like you use power bank and this phone will be your power bank too. Smartron comes bundled with a 10.5W charger in the box, and it requires at least 3 hrs to top it up.

Unlike battery performance, the camera is just an ordinary and has only few modes you can choose from. In addition to the basic photo and Video, there are Time-lapse, Beauty, Panorama, manuals and Multi-Exposure modes.

Manual mode lets you play with ISO, exposure, auto-focus, and white balance. Multi-Exposure mode lets you snap artistic photos by overlapping frame, And you see normal photo filters too which are used in normal photo mode.

As far as the camera quality is concerned the Smartron t. Phone P couldn’t impress us at some point, the images coming out were bit burn out when set to overexpose mode. Even Macros are overexposed. And the photos captured at room light or indoors showed a better quality compared to daylight. We noticed that when we kept the camera steady while taking a picture, the result came out to be fairly good, As the camera requires more time to focus on an object by reducing the shutter speed.

At the same time, the noise is almost regulated. Night shots show fewer details and selfies are overall nice and clean, and the beautify mode is seemly good in smoothening output.
Selfie shooter has a wide selfie mode to help you stitch three shots together to provide a wider frame. Regarding video quality, the rear camera remits 1080p, and front camera maxes out at 720. Smartron t. phone p’s cameras compared to related priced phones are much better, and this might be the key point of its marketing plan.

As we have allocated its strength and vulnerability, the Smartron t. Phone P boasts good hardware for such a low price considering specs. Design and build quality is well finished, battery life is superior due to its big battery. However, camera wise, the phone is not that great but an excellent pick for this price. You’re getting what you’re paying. If you bother about the long battery life and good hardware then The buying a Smartron t. Phone P is the best decision you can ever make.
